Museum of Frogs in Lokve, Croatia

In the village of Lokve in the region of Gorski Kotar in Croatia there is a unique museum devoted to frogs, called Muzej žaba - Museum of Frogs. Regular competitions are organized in frog jumping, which are very popular, among children as well as among grown-ups. Competitors with their frogs arrive from all over Croatia.

Museum of Broken Relationships visited San Francisco in February 2009

A museum dedicated to broken hearts has been founded in Croatia. Authors of the concept Olinka Vištica and Drazen Grubišić decided to set up the museum after consoling friends over their failed romances. The Museum of Broken Relationships is an art concept which proceeds from the assumption that objects possess integrated fields - "holograms" of memories and emotions.

Djuro Janekovic photographing Croatia's captial Zagreb in 1930s

Đuro Janeković and his newly discovered photos of Zagreb from 1930s reveal the capital of Croatia in new light and atmosphere. He exhibited his photos in Vienna, München, Buenos Aires, London, Oslo, Stockholm, Amsterdam, Debrecin, Prag, Varšava, and in Zagreb. An exhbition of his photos is organized at the Museum of Arts and Crafts in Zagreb until March 12 2009.

Journal of Croatian Studies - Volume XXIV - 1983

The 1983 issue of the Journal of Croatian Studies was fully devoted to the most famous Croatian sculptor, Ivan Mestrovic (1883-1962). The volume features three texts by the sculptor as well as articles by Ante Kadic, Bogdan Raditsa, Christopher Spalatin, Ivan’s son Matthew Mestrovic, Karlo Mirth, among others. The volume has 216 pages including 36 plates.

Bratislav Lucin leading expert for Croatian Renaissance classic Marko Marulic

Bratislav Lučin, distinguished Croatian scholar and director of Marulianum institute in the city of Split, has recently published two important books dealing with a famous Croatian Renaissance writer Marko Marulić 1450-1524. Marulić's books were read by St Francis Xavier, Cervantes, Thomas More, King Henry VIII, etc. Marko Marulić is the author of the notion of PSYCHOLOGY.

Republic of Croatia is scheduled to formally join the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) together with Albania at a summit marking the bloc's 60th anniversary during April 3-4. 2009. The NFCA is pleased to have contributed over the years to this great accomplishment for the Old Homeland. May Croatia long enjoy the peace and prosperity that is a by-product of NATO membership.

Studia Croatica 1986 #102

In this 102 (1986) issue of Studia Croatica, the main articles are one by Mate Mestrovic about the possibility of Democracy in the then Yugoslavia. Ante Kadic wrote about Marko Marulic, while Maja Lukac-Stier presents the main Croatian community contributions to Argentina. In turn, Ivo Boric wrote about the Croatian immigrants to Bolivia. This issue has 96 pages, in Spanish.
